I mean, sometimes you gotta make sure the trailer doesn’t hit the curb. As this camry driver shows us, one can never be too safe.

Meanwhile, New Hampshire actually passed a law against left-lane blocking on the highway. Yay? I mean, enforcement is another question, but hey. I’ll take it.

I have to wonder what leads to so many people turning from the wrong lanes at that intersection. Is it a design problem? A signage problem? Or perhaps  you have more than your fair share of dumb drivers?

I see this virtually every day in Bellevue.

I was a victim of this last year. Ended up one foot away from the dumbass slamming into the car I was driving.

It’s one of 2 things - either impatient assholes going around slow traffic in the correct lane (this is common in Chicago) , or, more likely, idiots who don’t realize they need to make a turn until the last minute, and are too stupid to get in the correct lane to anticipate the turn.

I also see more people than you’d think who will feint a left turn, then swing wildly over to make a right turn.  Somehow, they knew *where* to turn, but not *which way*.

I was all about these laws... until we got one. What actually happens is now you have the right to get mad when people block the lane, but there is no change in behavior and no enforcement.

Here I wonder if it could be someone who turned left from that little side street, ending up in the left-most lane, but wanted to go right. It really should be right turn only out of there.

Regardless, there’s no need for this, you missed your turn, just go another block, it will take you a couple minutes at most to correct your mistake.

You didn’t see the 53' trailer behind him?

Jesus man, how’d you miss that?

At least it will add one more justification to when I flash (ONCE) a car with my high beams, when they’re hanging in the left lane. My wife thinks it’s rude, I think it would only be rude if I did it over and over, especially while tailgating. I’m doing neither.

I watched  an Eclipse commit car-suicide by doing this. Slammed right into the side of a truck that was already turning right from the right turn lane.

I think that mindset is a lack of proper training. I’ve been working on my kids for years now. “Which way is the best way to leave this parking lot?” “Which way should we go if we’re heading home?” “What should you do if you miss your turn?”

I can’t understand how people do this. Even if I’m lost in a city and end up in the wrong lane for my turn you know what I do? I the correct direction for my lane and fix my mistake later.

I scoffed when the NY written test had a multiple choice question about what to do if you miss an exit on the hi ghway that included options like “reverse back to the exit in the breakdown lane”, “exit via the entry ramp”, and “cut across the grass to the exit”, but 20 years of driving experience says that people really think those are good things to do (hopefully they still aren’t dumb enough to admit it on a license test).

In Melbourne we call that a hook turn.
